Item Description

The Yaogangxian Mine is one of the premier specimen-producers in China. It truly has been producing world-class mineral specimens for a couple decades at this point, and we are still seeing new and interesting pieces coming out, including this limited discovery in 2021 that produced these beautiful Fluorite crystals that aren't quite like anything we've seen before from the locality. This small cabinet piece features a few sharp, rather gemmy, cubes of Fluorite with a wonderful green hue measuring up to 2.0 cm, which are associated with milky white prismatic crystals of Quartz, on matrix. The larger Fluorite crystal has an indentation on one edge, where it must have had some interrupted growth, but it's not damaged, as I can clearly see little reflective crystal faces. A very attractive newly mined piece from this iconic locality that would make a stellar addition to any Fluorite suite or a collection of either Chinese minerals, or specifically pieces from the Yaogangxian Mine.
