Fluorite with Dolomite

Here we have a bit showy cabinet specimen from the Moscona Mine in Spain. For years, this locality has been providing collectors with fine quality, showy and colorful display specimens of Fluorite. Like most of the Fluorite-producing mines in Asturias, the habit of these crystals is cubic, and these classics are easy to recognize for their wonderful form and eye-catching color. This cabinet specimen is filled with dozens of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, golden colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 9 mm on edge associated with "pearly" curved rhombic crystals of cream-colored Dolomite measuring up to 6 mm on matrix. The label mentioned there is Calcite on the piece, but I could not find any. No major damage that I can find on the top/display side of the piece. When the Fluorites are backlit, you can see right through some of them, as they are virtually water clear! A very attractive and excellent example of these well-known Fluorites.
