Item Description

The Fluorites from Unaweep Canyon in western Colorado are known locally as some of the most attractive Fluorites from Colorado. The distinctive octahedral form with vibrant green and purple colors makes them distinctive and just pretty. This piece is a good miniature display specimen of this classic material featuring a coverage of sharp, gemmy green octahedra of Fluorite with a selective deposition of Quartz on matrix. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye. Hard to find on the market today, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Fluorites, Colorado minerals or specimens from the United States. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12267). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
