Item Description

One of the most classic combinations from any locality in Colorado is green Fluorite with pink Rhodochrosite from the Sunnyside Mine. This piece features attractive, built cube cubic groups of gemmy soft green colored Fluorite sitting atop the specimen which are associated with soft pink colored Rhodochrosite on very minor matrix. Additionally there are a few "casts" of snow-white Quartz after Anhydrite for a nice touch. Most of the Fluorite groups are undamaged, but you can see it has a contacted face on the left side of the specimen, so it's not completely damage free. These specimens are highly sought after by Colorado collectors, and the combination of the Fluorite and Rhodo together is as eye-catching as anything you'll see from the Sweet Home Mine or any other ore deposit in Colorado. The price tag on this one is $1,200 in our inventory. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. You can read Gary's obituary here https://www.dcourier.com/news/2019/apr/27/obituary-gary-richard-weaver/
