Fluorite with Sphalerite

Item Description

This attractive, two-toned, matrix Fluorite specimen from Naica, Mexico, features several, large, subtle zoned crystals. All of the cubo-octahedral crystals have a very pale mint green core with exteriors that are nearly colorless. There are five dominant Fluorite crystals that range from 1.9 to 4 cm across and they are all transparent to translucent with cube faces on all of the crystal exhibiting a glassy luster and enable you to see right into the crystal. The octahedral faces all have a satin luster. The Fluorites sit on a cluster of green-black, lustrous Sphalerite that has a patch of drusy, snow-white Calcite. The display face is pristine and the crystals are in excellent condition as are the Sphalerite crystals at the bottom, just contacted on the back side where it was removed from the vein wall. This is a nice combination Fluorite piece from Naica from a classic find of the early 2000s (circa 2005-7)! valued $500-800
