Item Description
A rare minutely fossilzed tree limb has been replaced/phosphatized by apatite. This Cenozoic Era (65 MYBP to present) gently river tumbled specimen is from the Santa Fe River rivershed of Northern Florida. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2017 and acquired in the late 1940s or earlier. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
