Item Description

Frankamenite is an extremely rare hydrated potassium sodium calcium hydroxy silicate that is only found in three places on earth, all in the Murunskii Massif of Siberia. The species was named in after Victor Albertovitch Frank-Kamenetsky in 1996. It's actually a dimorph of Fluorcanasite, and was originally described as triclinic Canasite. Specimens of this material are virtually impossible to obtain on the market, and virtually nothing has been available for over 10 years. This piece features a patch of yellow-green Frankamenite measuring a few mm which is associated with fibrous light creamy-yellow color Tokkoite and the exceptionally rare potassium titanium silicate Davanite (according to the label), but I can't spot it with the naked eye. The matrix is soft purple Charoite, and really sets a nice background for the rest of these ultra rare species. If you collect rarities, or specimens from the Aldan Shield, you NEED this piece in your collection. Don't miss out, it's the only one we have to offer. From the collection of Paolo Matioli.
