Item Description

Friedelite is a relatively rare silicate that is only found in a few localities world wide. There are hundreds of species that occur around the Franklin mining district, and Friedelite is among the most classic and well known. This piece hosts a thick layer of pinkish-brown Friedelite on typical Franklin matrix. It came from the later finds at Sterling Hill (mid 1980s). Hard to find material, especially with such a rich amount of Friedelite on one specimen.
