Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this much less well-known lead-zinc mine in Missouri's famed Viburnum Trend. A 4.3 cm cluster of intergrown, sharp, highly lustrous, metallic-gray galena cubes is jauntily perched on matrix on this very aesthetic and uncommon 3-sided piece. The small galenas peppered on the matrix of tiny calcite rhombs and granular marcasite add much character. Choice and rare galena from the Sandy and Maureen Ludlum Collection, a well-known Ohio collector and dealer. NOTE: Mindat says the old St Joe 29 mine is now considered the Vibernum 28/29 mine by location name.
