Galena (excellent quality)

A superb, hefty cabinet sized display specimen of the famous Galena crystals from Krushev dol featuring Dozens of HIGHLY splendent, silvery, metallic cubic crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm with no matrix. The piece is incredibly three-dimensional and displays beautifully as you can see from the photos. While the piece is not a complete "floater", it is amazingly crystallized all the way around, with only a few small point of contact here and there. I love how the stepped arrrangment of the crystals almost resembles a staircase or a pyramid in areas, while other portions of the piece envoke the feeling of an M. C. Ecsher illustration. If you look closely, some of the Galenas actually have slightly "hoppered" or skeletal growth in areas, making for some really beautiful formed with the perfect faces of the cubes. The piece was terribly difficult to photograph, and trust me, it looks better in person. The luster is so bright on the Galena crystals that we had to use a muted light source in order to shoot them without getting terrible relfections. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is hefty, weighing in at 1,527 grams (nearly 3.5 pounds), so there will be an additional shipping charge.
