Galena on Quartz (classic material)

Neudorf Galenas are icons in the mineral world, and certainly highly sought after by collectors. Their fantastic crystal forms along with the highly displayable specimens make them some of the most desirable Galena specimens ever found. This piece features a predominant, very sharp, highly lustrous, well-formed, metallic silvery colored cuboctahedral crystal group of Galena measuring 1.3 cm across sitting on a layer of sugar / drusy Quartz on matrix. When looking with a loupe, I can see some tiny Calcite rhombs of a pale golden hue, along with some small spherical groups of tan Siderite. The association of the Galena on Quartz and the arrangement of the piece makes for a lovely display quality example of this classic old time material. Valued at $800. These old classics are now quite hard to find on the market, and a must-have for any fans of historic European minerals, specimens from German or worldwide sulfides / Galena specimens.
