Galena (superb crystal) on Dolomite

A fine quality Galena from the famous Stari Trg Mine at Trepča (in the former Yugoslavia) featuring a prominent, 5.3 cm razor-sharp, very well-formed, metallic, dark silvery colored cuboctahedral crystal sitting on rhombic, white Dolomite matrix. The piece is in great condition on the display side, but it's not complete on the back. I should also point out that the base of the specimen has some saw marks where it was trimmed. A beautiful example from older finds in the 1990s. The piece is about as showy and eye-catching as any other I've seen from the locale. We had this piece priced at $4,500 in the inventory.
