Item Description

These Gaudefroyite (a very rare manganese borate) crystals are excellent, with superb luster. The slender and prismatic crystals range up to about 1 cm in length. The Gaudefroyites actually coat a Garnet cast, where they are highly visible and complement beautifully the gemmy, bright to dark cherry-red Andradites. The best Gaudefroyites in the world come from the Kalahari Manganese Field and this thumbnail is first-rate for quality and aesthetics.
