Item Description

A striking, rich and sculptural large two-sided fluorite rib from the famous Xianghualing Mine. The pretty grass-green color saturation and the shape of the interior phantoms of the very glassy gem cubes are distintively different from side to side! Interesting chemistry here! The striking darker green, gem cubes on the convex side have sharp cubic interior phantoms! The beautiful, lighter green water-clear cubes on the concave side, to 2.3 cm, have unusual bladed interior phantoms! I particularly like the way the large cubes are strung out on the crest of the triangular specimen. Complete all-around and in superior shape for such a large, dense, and sculptural 2-sided piece. The front is essentially pristine, with only a trivial bit of periphery wear on the upper left. The back is also essentially pristine, with only a few hard-to-see lightly bruised cubes along the top line. These are certainly only modest detractions to this very fine and rich large example from this noted locale. The interstitial iron oxides add color contrast and pizzazz. Bright purple fluorescence, as you would expect. Valued at $600-750. Ex Paul Zerfass Collection # 510.
