A gorgeous forest of gem, cherry-red, rhodochrosite scalenohedrons on contrasting manganite matrix from the famous 1970s finds at the N'Chwaning II Mine. These beauties have top color, gemminess and luster, that the camera could not capture. Trivial termination wear, a few very lightly cleaved tips, and some edgewear are noted, but in the overall context of this striking thumbnail, these are very modest detractions. These are exceptional quality rhodos for the find. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Valued at $750-950. A pristine specimen of this quality would be much more. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
