Item Description

The yellow variety of spodumene, called triphane, is much less common from these rich gem crystal localities than pink spodumene or kunzite. This striking, bar-like crystal is a water-clear, doubly terminated floater and looks like GLASS! It is not evident in the photos how good the color is and how glassy and lustrous the crystal is. The crystal has a supremely waxy feel. The weird, uneven, chisel-shaped termination faces are lightly frosted, while the other termination looks a bit rougth, but is definitely terminated. At 389 grams, this is a hefty pristine piece for the size, and it is also an impressive one. Ex Norm Dawson Collection, former owner of the White Queen Mine (who owned this in the 1980s). Valued $2000-2500
