A sharply terminated, gorgeous gem tanzanite crystal with fine tapered form. This limpid, glassy beauty has very little internal crazing and has classic pleochrosim characteristic of an untreated crystal. The A and B faces are blue and blue-violet and the C face shows classic red. 8.12 carats mass. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. Bruising at the base on one corner is noted, but has minimal impact to this adorable thumbnail. High retail value of top-quality tanzanites is now said to be around $2000/carat at Tucson. Very fine quality valued by the former dealer at $1000 ($123/carat retail). This crystal is a very good deal for the size and quality.
