Item Description

A "gem" of a 2-piece deal of gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmalines from the famous Himalaya Mine. Both of the crystals have very gemmy, olive-green, lower sections followed by classic, pretty "Himalaya-pink" zones. A 3 mm, sharp and pretty, teal-blue zone lies just below the lustrous, frosted terminations of both crystals. Both are complete all-around. The crystal with the small flange at the base is doubly terminated, with a broken, but healed lower termination. The other crystal has a gem nodule at the base. The small crystal is nearly pristine, with only very trivial termination edgewear and one tiny spot of sidewear. The large crystal has a dinged termination with very modest sidewear. These are classic, well-striated, polychrome beauties from this renowned locale and would make excellent cutter material. 28 grams total weight - 15 and 13 grams each. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections (definitely older pieces).
