Beautiful indicolite-blue color on this excellent trigonal tourmaline from the circa 2010 finds at the famous Pederneira Mine. The gemmy, very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated layered crystal is dramatically accented by the fantastic M.C. Escher-like stepped-growth purple termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The bit of noted termination edge wear is only a modest detraction. The one clean repair lower in the crystal is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. The crystal glows, when backlit. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high lustre, striations and interior layering. MUCH better in person! A classic Pederneira purple-cap indicolite. 33 grams mass.
