A striking 7 mm flat 'air bubble" , a hollow space within layers of the quartz, is dramatically visible in the termination of the 4.8 cm smoky quartz crystal on this very sculptural small cabinet specimen. It stands out dramatically, as a nice smoky quartz, and the strange inclusion in the tip is a bonus. Additionally a small water bubble can be seen in another crystal, about 1mm, moving back and forth! So it was both air and water cavities within. The gem, very glassy, rich smokies are aesthetically intergrown and smartly attached to the milky quartz matrix plate. Essentially pristine in the display, with only a trivial tiny ding to the top crystal tip. Smoky quartz of this size, quality and form is rare from Governador Valadares. Most Minas Gerais specimens are from Diamantina, Divino das Laranjeiras or an unknown locality. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection.
