Item Description

Some of the finest examples of this beryllium zinc silicate are found at MSH, and this piece is a wonderful thumbnail representation featuring a slightly layered / intergrown group of tetrahedral soft yellow color crystals free of matrix. The piece looks like it could be a complete "floater" as I don't see a point of attachment, but I didn't want to try to remove it from its mount. A great example of this rare and desirable species from this prolific locality. It is now difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years, so if you collect minerals from this world famous prolific locality, don't miss out on this attractive thumbnail. From the collection of renowned mineral dealer, Charlie Key - the namesake for Keyite and Ludlockite.
