Item Description

This piece is from a discovery in 2012. Gibbsite is a fairly uncommon aluminum hydroxide mineral, which is rarely found in attractive display specimen. The Chinese specimens that came out in 2012 are some of the most impressive Gibbsite specimens discovered at any world locality, featuring some of the best blue hues ever seen, combined with larger sized pieces. This specimen features dozens upon dozens of botryoidal aggregates translucent, sky blue to aquamarine blue Gibbsite measuring up to 3 mm across sitting on host rock matrix. This material from Wenshan is possibly the best in the world for intensity of coloration. Very pretty material and fairly lightweight. Priced in the inventory at $1,400.
