Goethite

Item Description

Goethite specimens are rare from the old and extinct silver-polymetallic mines in this area. There appears to be two generations of botryoids on this small cab, larger on top of smaller. The luster for all the Goethite is superb, almost mirror-like, and the largest botryoids are about 1 cm across. Old-time for sure, this was originally in the Falkenhorst collection and was #4590 in Kay's collection. Rare, rich and showy iron ore from this well-known locale.
