Gold nugget (old CA finds)

A golden deal from the famous Mother Lode District of California! This is a sculptural, flattened, nubby, slightly rounded, river-worn gold nugget with rich gold luster and color. This is an old-time nugget from the Irv Brown Thumbnail Collection. The current spot price for gold is almost $38 per gram or over $1178 per troy ounce. 1.35 grams or a bullion value of over $51 but it has a large surface area for weight and so looks pretty impressive. Specimen value for larger nuggets is significantly more, as they are from the old California classic locale. But its a nice size and display piece for a specimen, or jewelry as well as a specimen!
