Gold on Pink Granite (rare)

Item Description

A "golden" two-piece deal of bright, burnished, hackly microcrystalline gold and leaf gold aesthetically set on two sculptural specimens of pink granite. These pieces are from the unique 1990s Newfoundland find, that we have got from the small lot. Hackly gold is scattered in the vuggy horizontal vein running across the miniature. The 4 mm gold leaf is exquisitely set on the crest of the thumbnail, which also has a bit of the black country rock. More gold is visible on the back of both pieces. The pink tint on the granitic quartz and feldspar is unique. Nifty gold with pizzazz.
