Item Description
Bright, rich yellow, hackly microcrystalline gold is richly scattered on both sides of the sliver of quartz matrix, which includes contrasting galena and goethite. This mine was the second highest gold producer in Wales. Gold specimens from this locale are very seldom on the market. The label with the piece lists the specific area in the mine where it was collected: the winze 40 feet below Level No. 6. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
