Item Description

This very cute locality nugget is 20 grams, surprisingly hefty for the apparent size. It is so-called sponge gold, a mass of microcrystalline gold that is neither well-crystallized nor a pure nugget, but looks nuggety at first glance. It is an old Brazilian specimen mined in 1978, and comes from the well-known, late dealer carlos Barbosa. Melt value alone is nearly the minimum bid, though this should be worth a locality premium as well (1.5 spot, usually)
