Gold veins in Quartz

This is a miniature of milky Quartz richly laced with stringers of Native Gold from the Ace of Diamonds Mine in Washington State. The essentially opaque white Quartz contains numerous stringers of brilliant metallic yellow Gold producing a classic, contrasting piece for the noble metal. Jagged gold stringers criss-cross the piece in many areas and vary in width from 1 to 3 mm. Many of the Gold veinlets having a spiky, three-dimensionality to them as they protrude from their milky vein Quartz matrix. This is an aesthetic and showy Gold specimen from this mine and pieces from here are difficult to find on the market since the mine is now closed and under the jurisdiction of the BLM. 45 grams (of which admittedly a small amount is the gold, but it has not been tested to see how much) RM7206
