Golden Barite on Green Fluorite

From a discovery circa 2010-2011. These are some of the most distinctive association specimens from any Chinese locality. The combination of the scintillating golden Barite crystals on the beautifully colorful Fluorite matrix is not only eye-catching, but notably uncommon in the mineral world for two common mineral species. That's not to say that Barite and Fluorite aren't found together often, but to have colorful examples of both species is relatively rare in my experience. This showy cabinet sized display specimen hosts dozens of very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, glowing golden colored Barite crystals measuring up to 7 mm across which are elegantly sprinkled over gemmy cubic rich blue-green Fluorite matrix. There are some subtle purple highlights that can be seen here and there within the Fluorite crystals, creating an added layer of color. A thin bit of Quartz can be seen on the underside of the specimen as well. Please note that the piece does have a saw mark underneath, but you can't see it when the specimen is displayed. My favorite aspect of the specimen is the fact that it GLOWS with color when backlit, and would look great in a display case with a light positioned directly behind it.
