Item Description

A striking, very showy and unusual goethite on smoky quartz specimen from Colorado. Uncommon, connected, lustrous, golden goethite botyroids and a large, earthy-brown, radial spray of goethite blades are dramatically attached to the side of a smoky quartz crystal and stick out like a sore thumb! Examination of the goethite on the back reveals the radial nature of the blades. The back of the smoky termination is contacted, but is out of sight on the primary display view. This striking specimen is from a recent find at the Dreamtime Mine in Teller County. Valued at $250 by the former owner, Adam Sotomayor, who collected it.
