Item Description

Gonnardite and Phillipsite are less well-known Zeolite Group species. White ball-shaped Gonnardite crystal clusters are richly scattered on the Phonolite matrix wedge covered with tiny glassy Phillipsite crystals. Phonolite is an uncommon extrusive igneous rock. This active quarry is well-known for Zeolite Group minerals and other species. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8260 and acquired as a gift from Dietrich in 1977. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A high quality example of this combination.
