Item Description

The finest examples of the very rare zeolite species Goosecreekite are those from India. They are markedly better than any other Goosecreekite specimens from any other world locality by many orders of magnitude. Were it not for these specimens, most people wouldn't even have much of a reference for Goosecreekite as a species. The mineral gets its name from the New Goose Creek Quarry in Leesburg, Virginia, USA. Despite the fact that the very best Goosecreekites come from India, they still do not get the attention they deserve for their size and quality. These are simply the largest and most impressive crystallized Goosecreekites extant, and a group like this is remarkable. This specimen is loaded with outstanding, large individual bladed crystal groups of snow white Goosecreekite forming a semi-radial "burst", free of matrix. I love the fact that the crystals are so large that they are clearly discernible from one another, whereas most examples of this mineral will feature smaller, more tightly intergrown crystals, but you have obvious separation here, which is a big deal for the species. An absolutely top-notch display quality specimen of what is a very rare mineral species. Priced in our inventory at $5,000. This piece comes with a FREE custom acrylic base for easy display
