Gorgeous Agate geode (Ken Roberts Coll.)

Item Description

An impressive and sculptural large sawed and polished agate geode from Minas Gerais. The striking vug is lined with spherical aggregates of sparkling drusy quartz accented with oxide blebs. Densely intergrown glassy quartz points surround the vug and the banded yellow agate on the perimeter is a fine contrast. One side hosts a loose, embedded 2.2 cm nodule and the pock marks on one side add pizzazz. This fine agate geode could furnish at least 12 more 5-mm slices of diminishing size.
