Grape Opal (fluorescent)

Item Description

A hard to find specimen of the highly sought after "Grape Opal" from Jalisco, Mexico. This material is often reserved for lapidary purposes, but we were able to get our hands on an unpolished specimen showing the INTENSE purple color surrounded by white Opal and rhyolite matrix. What makes this piece so important is the intensity and consistency of the color. To top it off, the piece is rather fluorescent under UV light as you can see. A great opportunity for an Opal collector to pick up a piece of this desirable material.
