Green Fluorapophyllite and Stilbite (1980s)

A fine oldtimer from the Pashan Quarry of the style of some of the earliest gem apophyllites that came out, totally unique in style and unequaled today! On a basaltic matrix are rosette-like clusters of glassy and gemmy, mint-green fluorapophyllite, to 3 cm in length. Several doubly terminated, lustrous and translucent, bladed and colorless stilbite crystals, to 1.7 cm in length, are scattered on the matrix and also on a few fluorapophyllites (totally characteristic of this old material!. When I was a teenager, I dreamed to own a good example from these finds, of the mid 1980s, and in fact one similar specimen was my first $500 rock back then. This is breathtaking in beauty and really really different than the thousands of contemporary examples of the material found from other quarries, later. It is, to me, a classic and for quality and style both. They are so rare on the market today, and if you look around the web you will see what I mean - totally different from other Indian Apoph's today. For that reason, I value them highly , as do many older collectors. However, they should also be valued simply on the beauty and elegance alone. In person, it sparkles like glass - better than the video. From the Keith Williams Collection of miniatures and small cabinet specimens - Keith was a well known dealer and collector for decades before retiring recently. Obviously this is larger than most of his pieces but hey, everybody has to make exceptions (and maybe he meant to trim it down a bit). Valued $2500-3500
