Green Heulandite (included with Celadonite) (ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection)

I know that there are a fair number of Indian zeolites on the market these days, but the vast majority of them are the finest examples of their respective species ever found. This Heulandite specimen is a nice change of pace as the crystals are a fantastic strong bluish-green hue which is caused by Celadonite inclusions. The crystals have formed into sharp, smooth, pearly/lustrous groups measuring up to 1.2 cm Several Heulandite groups have a graceful curvature which gives the piece three-dimensional depth and almost creates the illusion that it's something organic. You can see areas of the piece where the Celadonite did not completely penetrate the Heulandite crystals, so the original white hue of crystals can be seen. Very little damage, only a few slight imperfections, and it's very showy. Priced in the inventory at $500. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
