Item Description

A classic specimen of these well known Garnets. The piece features a attractive, sharp, dodecahedral "raspberry" color crystals of Grossular up to 1.2 cm (good sized for the material) on matrix from this famous locality that produced specimen in the mid-late 1990s. Good specimens are not common on the market anymore. These are some of the most distinctive Garnets in the world. Minor damage, and attractive for the size. From an old East Coast collection with a label from the famous and recently deceased mineral dealer, Larry Conklin. Valued at $1100.
