Item Description

The Jeffrey Mine has produced some of the most distinctive and magnificent quality Garnet crystals extant. These "Cinnamon" Grossulars from Jeffrey are known for their unique orange color, gemminess, top luster and superb "textbook" form. Here we have a pair of specimens from this hisoric mine featuring good quality, sharp, lustrous, orange color, gemmy, dodecahedral crystals of Grossular which measure up to 7 mm on blue Chalcedony (according to the label) on matrix. This material is no longer being found as the Jeffrey Quarry is completely defunct and will not produce these specimens again. Don't miss out on these Canadian classics. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5646 and 5647). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
