Item Description

In the gem world, Garnet is one of the most diverse stones. The wide range of colors, combined with good sized, durable gems makes them versatile, beautiful and desirable. This stone is from the famous and now closed Jeffrey Mine in Quebec, Canada where some of the most iconic Garnet specimens (regardless of species) have been found. The orange Grossulars from this locality are sometimes referred to as "Hessonite", as is the case with this stone. This "Round Brilliant" cut gem has a beautiful soft orange hue and is virtually eye clean. The fact that the stone is over 1 carat in weight means it's considered to be "collector quality". A fine quality stone for any fan of worldwide Garnets or possibly Canadian gems.
