Item Description

A great representative specimen of so-called "Gummite" which is defined now as a mixture of Boltwoodite, Clarkeite, Curite, Kasolite, Soddyite, Uraninite and Uranophane. Even though the Uraninite can be clearly seen on the piece, it's the yellow "Gummite" that makes the piece so eye-catching. This piece is from the collection of Allen Heyl, whose label states that Autunite is present as well, so not all of the yellow material is "Gummite". This piece is dated as being given to Allen in 1940!, so it's easily 75 years old, probably more.
