Item Description

A sculptural large pseudomorph of lustrous, translucent, bone-white gypsum replacing large sharp flattening prismatic glauberite crystals from famous Camp Verde. Glauberite is a rare Na-Ca sulfate and this ancient salt-clay-gypsum mining area is famous for such unusual pseudomorphs. Calcite also pseudomorphs glauberite from here. In fine shape, overall, with just a modest bit of bruising. Excellent for such a soft mineral. This artistic piece has multiple display views. It looks like a fish with large tail and dorsal fins in two views.
