Item Description

A classic old time specimen of the famous "ram's horn" Gypsums from Mexico. I don't know for certain if this piece is from Naica or Santa Eulalia, and the label on states it's from Mexico, so if anybody out there has insight as to where it's from, please let us know. A handful of attractive, gently curled translucent colorless groups of Gypsum measuring up to 2.8 cm are beautifully growing on the end of the narrow matrix. No major damage and very attractive. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#521). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
