Item Description

A rarely seen Gypsum specimen from Kansas. This piece came labeled as only coming from Ellsworth County, but it's a superb example of this gem varietal known as Selenite. Sharp, well-defined, GEMMY colorless twinned crystals of Selenite are intergrown to create a showy and three-dimensional display specimen. Excellent condition all the way around, and it's virtually WATER CLEAR in areas! A really cool and unusual midwest specimen from the amazing collection of Kay Robertson (#5068). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
