Item Description

Halite specimen are rare from any Iran locality and are very rare from Hormuz Island. A large sculptural mounded plate is composed of lustrous, translucent, blocky crystals to 2.4 cm with frosted faces. The iron oxide tint adds character and tiny black microcrystals of an unknown species are noted. A very fine, rare and pristine halite from this locale and the Bob Trimingham Collection.
