Item Description

Halloysite is an uncommon hydrous silicate and is a member of the Serpentine Group. It is SUPER RARE from the Type Locality in Belgium. This is a solid white, earthy-clayey mass of the species. The name halloysite stands for the two grandfathered and distinct species, halloysite-10A (hydrated halloysite) or halloysite-7A (dehydrated halloysite). Halloysite is found in widely varied environments, from igneous to volcanic to sedimentary. A strange and very rare mineral from the Josef Vajdak Collection and comes with a xerox note from the former owner, who obtained the piece ove 30 years ago. Value of such a rarity from the Type Locality with supporting documentation?
