This Polish sulfur mine is well-known for sharp hauerite crystals. This is a classic, sharp, moderately lustrous, reddish-brown modified octahedron with an out-of-sight contact on one face. Hauerite is rare Mn-sulfide, a member of the Pyrite Group. A fine example of the rare species and locale. Most hauerite specimens you see are from Italy. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. rare!
