Item Description

A rarely seen and find quality single crystal of dark green colored Hedenbergite from the Tormiq Valley in the high mountains of Pakistan. This area is famous for its fine Epidote / Clinozoisite crystals, but Hedenbergite is exceedingly hard to find. This piece is a sharp, well-formed prism, complete on all sides. With strong backlighting, you can see there are small areas of rich green clarity inside. If you're a fan of Pyroxenes, you know how rare it is to see such well-formed crystals with gemminess like this one, so don't miss out on picking up a fine quality example of these elusive crystals from Tormiq. From the collection of Shields Flynn with a label from Ernie Schlichter.
