Item Description

This is a great specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen, has no Amazonite, but features VERY sharp, metallic grey pseudmorphs of Hematite after rhombic Siderite which are accented by a few sharp, gemmy Smoky Quartz crystal. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected over 30 years ago (August of 1980), when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic". I have to stress that the main pseudomorph (which measures 15 mm on edge), is incredibly sharp for the material. Hard to find these days, and certainly good quality for the material.
