Item Description

A really unusual, rare and unique Hematite specimen that came to us directly from our source in China. It is the only one like it that we've seen from this remote locality in far northwestern China (near the Mongolian border). The piece resembles the famous old Cornish "blister coppers", which are actually Chalcopyrite, but in this case it's Hematite. It's not quite what we would call a piece of "kindey ore" as it's more of a "flat" specimen but still shows little "bubbles" on the surface of the slightly banded formation. The color is mostly a metallic silvery-grey with areas of a reddish-brown patina here and there. A great piece for any fan of Hematites or Chinese minerals! Priced in the inventory at $1,250.
