Item Description
A rare German treasure: Scintillating tiny brick-red hematite-included quartz crystals (Eisenkiesel or Iron Quartz) are dramatically and colorfully festooned on the sculptural dark purple banded fluorite matrix. The striking casted areas, where the earlier crystals of an unknown species have been dissolved away adds real pizzazz to the piece. This fine and uncommon combination is from the old extinct fluorite Johannesschacht Mine in Bavaria. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. Valued by the former dealer at $400.
